Urge the National Association of Manufacturers to support the strongest possible CPSC reform
The U.S. Senate passed our priority legislation to reform the Consumer Product Safety Commission and make toys safer by a resounding 79-13 vote. The House passed its bill in December.
Now all that’s left is for the House and Senate to negotiate their two bills so that they can send a final law to the president, so that this year’s holiday season will be safer and happier than last year’s.
But despite the stinging rebukes to its weakening amendments on the Senate floor, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), which includes toy companies and others that make products regulated by the CPSC, continues its opposition to passage of the best parts of both bills, and worse, it may try to delay or even kill the reforms.
You can help by sending the NAM an email urging it to support the strongest possible CPSC reforms.Follow these 3 easy steps to help out.
