Californians overwhelmingly voted for ballot measures to improve California's public transportation last November, but Congress didn't seem to get the message. The Economic Recovery Package before Congress only allocates 25% of the transportation funding to transit projects, while 75% goes into building roads.

Additionally, public transit projects create 20 percent more jobs-per-dollar than road building projects.
