Prevent Cuts to Public Transportation

The California state Legislature is considering massive cuts to public transit in the state budget – to the tune of $1.4 billion dollars.

Ridership on trains, buses, and other transit has been at an all time high this spring, as more and more travelers find alternatives to paying $4.50 a gallon for gas. As a result of serving more riders, and paying for higher fuel costs of their own, public transit agencies need funding now more than ever to provide clean, convenient, and affordable alternatives to driving.

Letter	Dear legislator, Especially when gas is at $4.50 a gallon, cutting public transportation funding doesn’t make any sense. Many of California’s bus and rail lines are serving more riders than ever before.
