Austin Price joined CALPIRG as our Heath Care Associate in August 2010. In that role, Austin is working to ensure that health care laws help to lower costs, expand access to coverage, and protect consumers from being taken advantage of by the health insurance and prescription drug industries. In particular, he is focused on making sure the new federal health care law is implemented well here in California.
In the fall of 2010 Austin was also a campus organizer for CALPIRG’s successful “No on Prop 23” field campaign; defeating the oil industry's attempt to repeal California’s landmark clean air and clean energy legislation. Austin graduated from Transylvania University in 2008 and completed a Master in International Development at the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs in 2010.

You Can Help
We have a chance to cut billions in junk food subsidies this year. Your support will help us do the research, advocacy and grassroots organizing to convince our elected officials to act.
PRIORITY ACTION
Each year, our tax dollars pay for enough junk food additives to buy 8.5 two-liter bottles of soda for each person under 18. Help stop the subsidies for junk food.
